Inspired by the traditional knowledge of West African artisans, our plant-based Black Soap honors generations of natural craftsmanship. These artisans discovered the art of transforming carefully dried tree bark into ash, which, when combined with natural oils, produces a smooth, gentle soap.

At Savons des Îles, we’ve added a Haitian twist to this age-old process, using Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil sourced from Haiti to create an even richer and more luxurious lather. Our formulation is simple and thoughtful, made from natural ingredients, including Bentonite, a fine clay formed over time from volcanic ash, which contributes to the soap’s unique texture.

• Mindfully made by hand in small batches and cured for 6 weeks
• Safe, containing NO sulfates, synthetic colors, parabens, Triclosan, or propylene glycol.

Suitable for daily use, our Black Soap turns an everyday bath into a sensory experience. Its gray lather features Activated Charcoal and Bentonite Clay, while Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice helps leave the skin feeling soft and refreshed. A harmonious blend of Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, and Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil invigorates the senses, while Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Tocopherol (Vitamin E) Oil, and Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Milk provide gentle hydration and a touch of indulgence.

How to use: Wet your face with water, moisten the bar, and lather between your hands. Smooth the lather onto your skin, rinse, and gently pat dry. This bar can also be used for the body. To maintain the quality and longevity of your soap, store it in a dry place between uses.
